For Baselworld 2016, TAG Heuer adds two millimeters to last year’s well-received Aquaracer 300M collection, along with introducing some ceramic Aquaracer Lady 300M watches. The 2015 TAG Heuer Aquaracer 300M models introduced a ceramic bezel and went fully modern, bold, and sporty in design and the new-for-2016 TAG Heuer Aquaracer 300M watches take it a step further with a bolder, 43mm size. Also new is a confidently feminine lady’s version with a fully ceramic case and bracelet. With these and the other recent updates, it looks like TAG Heuer is really beginning to hit its stride with the Aquaracer collection.
You likely know that a simple two millimeters can make a big difference in the wearing experience of a watch. So 43mm takes the TAG Heuer Aquaracer 300M much closer to “big watch” territory from the previously more “reserved” 41mm but this is perhaps an even more natural size for this bright and sporty style. No further comment is possible regarding size, wearability, and wrist presence until we are able to try one on, but I have a feeling they will be popular. The Aquaracer is one of TAG Heuer’s most important and popular lines, and it’s about time they offered enthusiasts something more to pay attention to, as they are now doing.
Something else that’s new for these models is an updated logo. Sporty and colorful, the new TAG Heuer Aquaracer 300M watches might be moving too fast for you to even notice it – honestly, I missed it until it was pointed out to me. This logo variation is a font change for the “TAG” part in the upper portion of the “shield,” with fewer arrows and a more straightforward, blocky lettering. This isn’t the logo’s debut, but it is the first time for it to appear on an Aquaracer model. Which logo style do you prefer?
Even the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Lady 300M watches are larger for 2016. Still, they are femininely sized at 35mm, but that is more than previous Aquaracer Lady models that were available at 27mm and 32mm. These are actually TAG Heuer’s first all-ceramic watches and the design looks as if it were made for this material. Once again, I think the Aquaracer succeeds in being classic-looking but distinctive and not looking too much like anything else here, say, a Chanel J12. However, with what appears to be a uniformly polished case, I think that mixed finishes, like brushed with polished, would elevate the overall look – remember that ceramic can take different finishes similar to steel. The 2016 TAG Heuer Aquaracer Lady 300M ceramic watches come in an all-white version, an all-black version with diamonds around the bezel, and a black version with rose gold bezel and matching dial accents.
These TAG Heuer Aquaracer Lady 300M replica watches have a good look, and I would love to gift something like this, though even more so if they were mechanical. While a quartz movement can allow for thinner (and we still don’t have the exact measurements for these pieces) and less expensive watch than a mechanical movement, “watch guys” will often want to choose a gift that interests them. We have also been seeing an increased demand among women for mechanical watches, and TAG’s market segment is certainly one that could be expanded for this type of audience. The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Lady 300M watches use a Swiss quartz movement, sapphire crystal, and are, of course, also water resistant to 300m. Highly scratch-resistant and color-retaining, ceramic’s main downside is that it can chip with hard impacts. It is interesting to see all-ceramic watches from TAG, and I am looking forward to what they do next with the material.
